Law #13: Law of Reproduction
You have to know who E.F. Hutton is, I suppose, to get the meaning of this chapter's title. It comes from a commercial about an investment company led by a respected portfolio manager: "When E.F. Hutton speaks, people listen." YouTube it.
Watch any group of people, and you'll detect who the real leader is. Often this is not the person sitting at the front of the room. (Notice how often the real leaders actually sit at the back of the room?)
Seven characteristics or behaviors that are common in real leaders:
1. Depth of character
2. Deep and varied relationships
3. Depth/breadth of knowledge
4. Intuition
5. Challenging experiences
6. Past successes
7. Ability to deliver results
Note: is it more important to be in charge or to get things done? What if you identify the real leader, and nurture a relationship with that person? Maxwell shared a story about doing this in his first church assignment.
